A large Chinese lacquer box and cover
19th Century
of circular shape, decorated in gilt, red, black and yellow lacquer with circular panels of dragons amongst flames and cloud scrolls between calligraphic roundels, the cover with bats amongst gourds surrounding a central stylised shou character, within a key-fret border, the interior with drop-in tray -- 15¾in. (40cm.) wide, (minor chips to cover).
