A PAIR OF FRENCH PATINATED BRONZE FIGURES OF BACCHUS AND ARIADNE ON ORMOLU-MOUNTED FIORE DI PÊCHE MARBLE BASES
Third quarter 19th century
Each figure draped on a skin-covered bed, Bacchus holding aloft a goblet, Ariadne a bunch of grapes, each decorated with vines and grape bunches, on an oval plinth, further raised on a stepped marble plinth with ormolu beaded collars and rosettes to the corners on bun feet
