Blue interlaced L's enclosing date letter F for 1758-1759, painter's mark for Taillandier, incised 3
Of cylindrical form, the slightly domed cover with flower finial, painted in colours with loose bouquets within quatrefoil panels reserved against the green ground within a blue ground surround edged in gilt

Lot Essay

The present toilet pot is a lovely example of blue and green ground first used in tandem in 1758. Pomade pots of this shape were produced in a variety of sizes of which the present pot is an example of the smallest.
