The cup finely painted in the style of 17th century Dutch genre painters such as David Teniers the Younger with a tavern scene of a man playing the violin, a woman holding sheet music, men playing cards in the background, reserved within a gilt ciselé band on the purple ground further reserved with Rensaissance style grotesque, the saucer similarly painted with three tavern vignettes, gilt line rims
