The border gilt with foliate scrolls and vines joined by beaded rings and floral wreaths, reserved with a panel painted with a Russian double-headed eagle flanked by rose sprays; together with a Russian (St. Petersburg) turquoise-ground saucer, circa 1840, Nicholas I mark, gilt 22., painted with a vignette of a bird perched on a branch within a hexafoil reserve enriched with gilt foliage
