Christie's charges a Buyer's premium calculated at 23.205% of the hammer price for each lot with a value up to €110,000. Lot Essay

The papier maché version of the present lot was designed for the theater play Genesius by Henri Ghéon, which was on stage in 1926 in Holland under the direction of Albert van Dalsum. Partly due to the effect of the masks, the play was an enormous success.
