Engraved frontispiece, title printed in red and black, engraved armorial head-piece to dedication, 2 portraits, 35 engraved plates, plans and tables, most folding, 52 engraved illustrations, 2 full-page. (One plate browned and spotted, a few small marginal rustholes and some small pieces torn away from margins). Contemporary blind-stamped vellum (upper joints split, some light staining).
