An Epitome of the Natural History of the Insects of China: comprising figures and descriptions of upwards of one hundred new, singular, and beautiful species; together with some that are of importance in medicine, domestic economy, &c , London: for the author by T. Bensley, 1798. 4° (294 x 220mm.). 50 hand-coloured engraved plates, heightened with gum arabic. (A few light spots and stains, some light browning). Contemporary polished calf, covers with a triple gilt fillet border, green morocco spine gilt in compartments with black morocco lettering-piece (rebacked, lightly rubbed and scuffed), g.e. Provenance: L. Roy Hobdell (bookplate).
