(A few plates cropped, generally not affecting images, last 3 plates in volume II misnumbered, occasional light spotting). 20th-century calf gilt, upper covers with central armorial stamped in gilt (edges lightly rubbed, some light scuff-marks), g.e. Provenance: Sir Giles Loder (bookplate); J. Henry Beilby (bookseller's label).
FIRST EDITION. Nissen BBI 2229. A good set from the collection of Sir Giles Loder, 3rd Baronet (1914-1999); Vice-President of the Royal Horticultural Society from the mid-1980's. He was best known for his development of the woodland gardens at Leonardslee, near Horsham in West Sussex, created by his grandfather, Sir Edmund, in 1887. (3)
