A copper and bronze cylindrcal teapot and cover
Meiji Period
with short spout and handle simulating a tree branch, the body decorated in low relief with leafy branches issuing from the handle, the cover with branch section finial, the underside with two lines of calligraphy saying that it is madfe by Kanaya Gorosaburo, location Dai Nippon Saikyo Ju -- 7in. (17.7cm.) high; a polished bronze circular box and cover decorated with insects amongst floweering branches, the underside with incised Inoue signature -- 5¼in. (13.3cm.) diam.; and a polished bronze circular box and cover, decorated in silver and copper with insects amongst flowering branches issuing from rockwork, the underside with incised calligraphy -- 4½in. (11.4cm.) diam., (rubbing).
