Meiji Period
of ovoid shape with tall flaring neck and iris flower handles, the ivory body decorated with birds in flight and perched on a bird-house hanging from a prunus tree above irises and a flowing stream, the reverse with wading birds beneath various flowering branches, the silver neck and base with enamelled flower blooms, rectangular tablet to base with Mitsutomo signature -- 11 5/8in. (29.5cm.) high, (minor losses to inlay and enamels).
