Three Makimono of Travel and Occupations, Entitled Tsuki no Koi [Love by Moonlight]

Three handscrolls in the form of an uta-awase [collection of competitive poems] entitled Tsuki no koi [Love by Moonlight] and comprising 71 different scenes, divided by sections of narrative and poetic text, depicting trades and occupations and other scenes witnessed along the Tokaido road, including a carver of Buddhist images, a scroll-maker, a lacquerer, a worker in shell inlay, a painter, a hatmaker, various metalworkers and an inkstone maker, the first scroll with scenes 1-23, the second with scenes 24-46 and the last with scenes 47-71, ink and colours on paper, with collector's seal of the Tsukada Bunko library
