An Ichimonji Tachi in Itomaki no Tachi Mounts
Signed Ichi, Kamakura/Muromachi Period (14th Century)
The blade honzukuri, iori-mune, koshi-zori with chu-kissaki, hada obscured, wide choji hamon, boshi obscured, ubu nakago, cleaned, with the typical Ichi signature, kissaki bent with no visible hamon on it, the hamon possibly runs off, an area of pitting on the edge about half way up the blade, the nakago polished bright

In itomaki no tachi mounting with shakudo nanako tachi mounts decorated overall with gilt kiri-mon, gilt kiri-menuki, nashiji saya similarly with kiri, split and lacquer damage, 19th century.
