Lot Essay

Yorkmoor was built for the Moor Line (W. Runciman & Co., managers) by J. Readhead & Sons at South Shields in 1902. Registered at 3,544 tons gross (2,287 net), she measured 341½ feet in length with a 46½ foot beam and was powered by one of her builder's own engines. She remained with the Moor Line until the advent of her successor of the same name in 1912.
