Similar plaques which are part of sets made to adorn belts, are illustrated in Zhongguo Yuqi Quanji, vol. 5, p. 33 and 37, in The Complete Collection of Treasures of the Palace Museum, Jadeware (II), Hong Kong, 1995, p. 29, fig. 26, and in Rawson, Chinese Jade from the Neolithic to the Qing, London, 1995, p. 329, fig. 1, where the author notes that 'plaques decorated with kneeling figures became popular during early Tang times'.
