A DOUCAI 'MARRIAGE' BOWL
Underglaze-blue Daoguang seal mark and of the period (1821-50)
The deep sides rounded at the base and straightening steeply towards the rim, painted and enamelled around the exterior with ducks swimming among lotus below a blue and white dragon band around the rim, the interior with a flying duck diving towards its mate in a lotus pond below a band of lanca characters around the rim, minute rim glaze chip, interior adhesions ground
6½ in. (16.5 cm.) diam.

Lot Essay
