Née Lady Doreen Geraldine Browne, third daughter of 6th Marquess of Sligo, she was married on 22nd January 1919 to Michael Herbert Rudolph Knatchbull, 5th Baron Brabourne GCSI, GCIE, MC (1895-1939), Governor of Bombay 1933-1937, Governor of Bengal 1937-1939, Viceroy and Acting Governor-General of India in 1938
