The en suite with the preceding lot, the rectangular padded back, seat and arm-supports upholstered à chassis in green striped silk velvet, the back carved with berried laurel-leaves, stiff-leaves and beading, the scrolled arms with panelled acanthus-carved terminals, the sides with trailing laurel leaves, the seatrail carved with rosettes and entrelacs, on stop-fluted acanthus-carved tapering legs carved with chandelles and headed by panelled rosettes, the seat frame inscribed in ink three times 'Fond No. 2'

Possibly supplied in 1779 to the duchesse de Villeroy, the sister of the duc d'Aumont, for her hôtel in the rue de l'Université, Paris.
