The hood with later blind fret cornice panel, with later spiral twist columns to the front door and conforming columns to the rear slats, glazed side panels, convex throat mouldings inlaid with marquetry to the front, the trunk door with lenticle and inlaid with foliate and shell marquetry and with later moulded frame, bordered by running scroll marquetry, with arabesque and acanthus inlay to the plinth raised on later bun feet, the 11in. square brass dial with later winged cherub mask and foliate spandrels to the silvered Roman and Arabic chapter ring with elaborate cross half hour markers, signed J Windmills London, the matted centre with silvered subsidiary seconds ring, ringed winding holes and square date aperture with engraved border, blued steel hands (minute later), the six latched pillar movement with anchor escapement and inside countwheel strike on bell; case associated to movement and dial
