Musigny--Vintage 1935
Côte de Nuits, de Vogüé
Damaged, bin-soiled label. Level: 2cm
A rarely seen but very good, abundant Burgundy vintage. I have not tasted de Vogüé's '35 Musigny - and I doubt if many people have; but from my notes I see that the '35 Savigny, Hospices de Beaune, Cuvée Fouquerand was the very best of the old Dr. Barolet wines. It had a "hot vintage" depth of colour, rich nose, full body and dry finish. One other '35, a DRC Grands Echézeaux was also extremely attractive, sound when I drank it at Arnaud's in New Orleans in 1986. So whoever buys this virtually unique de Vogüé Musigny is in for a rare treat. MB.
