An awe-inspiring combination: '82 and Pétrus. As the vintage approached the forecast was for good weather for the rest of the week, Christian Moueix sent his pickers to the Bassin d'Arcachon for a day at the beach. Upon their return, the forecast had changed and the rested pickers picked the vintage in record time before the rain came. At a recent tasting alongside Christian at Christie's in New York, the '82 was extraordinary, powerful yet perfumed and fragrant, longevity and elegance. Like an iron fist in a velvet glove.
