A selection of famille rose armorial wares
Qianlong
including a tea bowl, coffee cup and saucer en suite painted and gilt with central crests bearing the monogram 'CS', the arms are of Stephenson; an armorial tea cup painted en grisaille, iron red and gilt, bearing the motto 'Virtus Sibi Praemium', the arms are of Wilson; a cup painted in blue enamels and gilt with the monogram 'CG'; a marriage bowl painted to either side with twin monograms below cherubs flanking a tree and crown above a heart-shaped panel dated 1773 -- 5½in. (14cms) diam, (part restored); an oblong octagonal dish painted with a crest bearing the motto 'Recte Faciendo Securus' on a ground of scattered flowers -- 9¾in. (24.7cms) long, the arms are of Inglis; and an armorial punch bowl painted with crests bearing the motto 'Be Sure' -- 13in. (33cms) diam, (cracked).
