A RARE SILVER PAIR CASED VERGE POCKET WATCH WITH ALARM

gilt fusee movement with divided tulip pillars, pierced and engraved backplate furniture, the balance cock with small irregular foot, pierced and engraved foliate alarm barrel, steel worm set-up, silver champleve dial with Roman numerals, the hours indicated by a pointer mounted on the rotating inner alarm disc, steel alarm hand, very finely pierced and engraved inner case with casemaker's initials WB, pierced outer case with square hinge, the back later engraved with the names of various English ports and the times of their respective high tides, casemaker's initials WS, diameter 55mm.
