with 37-jewel self-winding lever movement, gyromax balance with blued overcoil hairspring, 18ct. gold rotor, adjusted to heat, cold, isochronism and five positions, silvered dial with applied baton markers, gilt hands, subsidiary seconds, date aperture, case with screw back and inscribed W'I'N DYGARU DI, Patek Philippe 18ct. gold bracelet, case, movement and dial signed, 34mm.

Lot Essay

According to the present owner - a former personal assistant to Richard Burton, this watch was given by Elizabeth Taylor to Richard Burton at the beginning of their romance. The inscription on the back of the watch in Welsh translates as "I Love You".
