A fine 19th-Century lacquered-brass Ross No.1 stand compound monocular microscope,
signed on the foot ROSS LONDON 1967, the body tube with rack and pinion focusing and micrometer fine adjustment and R.& J. Beck triple nosepiece, with mechanical stage and fully adjustable substage condensor with rotating vertical wheel with numbered apertures of increasing size signed Made by A. Ross, London. Registered July 20 1819, with plano-concave substage mirror, raised on two vertical supports with a Y-shaped foot, contained in the original mahogany case with two drawers of accessories including four eyepieces A-D, one signed KELLNERS ORTHOSCOPIC. ROSS, LONDON, an Abbé condensor and other substage attachments, stage forceps and Ross objectives 0in., ¼in., 1in. and 2in. in signed canisters, the case with brass carrying handle and key -- 20in. (50.8cm.) high
