With tapering sighted two-stage barrel signed on the raised flat at the breech, gold-lined touch-hole, engraved grooved tang, signed rounded lock with raised border, the pan with water-drains and raised lip fitting into the pan-cover, chiselled cock, moulded walnut full stock carved in relief with a shell behind the barrel tang and rear ramrod-pipe, engraved and chiselled iron mounts including elaborate trophy of arms side-plate secured by side-nails for a rectangular key, trigger-guard with first pattern acorn finial, three engraved ramrod- pipes, and later horn-tipped ramrod (some wear overall, some scattered surface pitting), London proof marks
