A SCOTTISH BASKET-HILTED BACKSWORD
Second quarter of the 18th Century
With tapering blade cut with three long fullers on each side and two shallow grooves on the ricasso, the central fuller on each side stamped 'Andria Ferara', iron guard of slender bars involving incised panels pierced with circles and sylised hearts, scrolled wrist-guard, fluted pommel, and spirally fluted wooden grip with iron ferrules
