A CASED PAIR OF 28-BORE PERCUSSION PISTOLS
Signed Adams, London, circa 1830
With browned twist octagonal sighted barrels each inscribed 'London', scroll engraved case-hardened patent breeches, scroll engraved case-hardened tangs each incorporating the back-sight, signed scroll engraved case-hardened locks, figured walnut half-stocks, chequered butts, engraved blued iron mounts, silver escutcheons and fore-end caps, brass-tipped ramrods (one incomplete), and blued triggers (iron parts refinished throughout): in fitted mahogany case lined in blue velvet, the lid (cracked) with flush-fitting carrying handle and circular escutcheon, with accessories (one compartment lid missing), Birmingham proof marks
