2° (553 x 450mm). Hand-coloured lithographic title and 10 hand-coloured tinted lithographic plates by Haghe after Edwards, heightened with varnish, and mounted on board within ink-ruled frames. Lithographic dedication and plan, one-leaf letterpress list of plates printed in blue. (Title and dedication spotted, dedication and plan slightly waterstained at upper margin, plate mounts lightly spotted and occasionally thumb-soiled.) Unbound as issued in original red morocco-backed cloth gilt portfolio (restored).
GOOD COPY OF THESE VERY RARE SKETCHES 'illustrative of the scenery and architecture of Scinde and the adjacent frontier,' and dedicated to Sir Charles Napier as Governor of Scinde and Bellochistan. Edwards was, at the time, serving as a Lieutenant in the 86th or Royal County Down Regiment. Abbey Travel 469; Tooley 193.
