Lot Essay

Possibly an autograph variant of Le Cadeau des Pêcheurs, formerly in the collection of Lady Peters and sold by C. Morland Agnew, 9 July 1926, no. 137 (see F. Ingersoll-Smouse, Pater, Paris 1921, no. 48), which in turn is based on the painting by Pater in the Huis Doorn, 1927 (op. cit. no. 47).
