Tasting note: Rich, red-purple, with complex, finely spicy perfumes emerging. "This is the most tannic wine we ever produced" said Jean-Michel Cazes, when he was guest of honour at last year's Raffles Hotel Wine & Food Experience, where I had the honour of introducing him. The palate has richness and weight, being densely packed with fuitiness, the ripe tannins by no means excessive. It will be deliciously magnificent from 2005, for at least two decades. A.H.
