Tasting note for the 1986 vintage: Rich, deep garnet with copper edge, the nose being penetratingly Cabernet, with herbaceous notes. Last tasted from magnum in November 2001, this appeared to be in a state of suspended animation, the fruit muted, the fleshiness and length not readily apparent. Give this 3 years for it to emerge from its shell. A.H.
