An Urbino footed dish
Circa 1540
Painted with scantily clad male figures, one with sores all over his body, at discussion by a heap of boulders in a hilly landscape with an avenue of trees and burning fortified buildings on the left, a fortified city beyond a lake on the right, within a dark-blue line and yellow band border, the underside with a further yellow band below the rim (section from 9 to 11 o'clock broken from rim and restored, two associated slight cracks, three further minor cracks from rim, slight chipping and fritting to rim)
10¼ in. (25.9 cm.) diam.
