A German porcelain figure of The Provender to the Monastery
Circa 1770, perhaps Ansbach, Pressnummer 4 and painter's mark a in iron-red
The monk in brown grey habit with a yellow sheaf of corn on his back concealing a smiling girl in a plumed white cap and red-heeled turquoise shoes, standing on a shaped gilt scroll-moulded pad base applied with two flowers and foliage (some chipping to monk's girdle, ears of corn and base of stalks partly lacking, some minor chipping to flowers and foliage on the base)
