A Restauration bronze and ormolu striking 'library' mantel clock, circa 1820
The oval section case surmounted by the figure of a young girl on a stool and reading, with floral garland mounts to the sides, with lyre mounts to the front, with quatrefoil and flowerhead cast gallery, on milled bun feet, with berried leaf bezel, the dial with reeded chapter ring and individual painted Roman chapters, engine-turned centre, blued steel moon hands, the twin barrel movement with silk suspension and countwheel strike on bell -- 15¼in. (39cm.) high
