A HUANGHUALI BOOK REST, SHUTUO
Late 16th/early 17th century
Set within a sturdy unadorned rectangular frame with two transverse stretchers, the book rest support frame with two similar molded vertical stretchers which may be tilted up, supported by a smaller rectangular piece with protruding ends atop two stretchers, providing an adjustable viewing angle
8¾in. (22cm.) high, 9½in. (24.5cm.) wide, 11in. (27.7cm.) deep
