The rectangular box designed on the surface with sword fittings in high relief of simulated mixed metals on a roiro-nuri ground including three tsuba, and a kogai, kozuka, menuki and fuchi-kashira, two of the tsuba inscribed Nobuyoshi ryokoshi [Hata Nobuyoshi (b. circa 1802) metalworker of the Iwama family of smiths] and Masayoshi, the interior nashiji; fitted with cord loops cast as chrysanthemums and patinated in shakudo
