Edo period (18th-19th century) the first with signature Hidemasa
The first of a monkey on an oyster shell, naturalistically rendered; the second of a monkey seated leaning on a catfish, a gourd under his arm, the eyes of the fish inlaid in horn; the third, two puppies curled up on a straw cape and hat, the piebald pattern on the dogs' coats indicated with fine lines of stained and unstained patches
