A PAIR OF PARCEL GILT-BRONZE GUARDIANS
Late Ming dynasty, 17th century
Each finely cast holding a sword in the right hand, wearing long robes belted over armor and a long celestial scarf that ripples above the shoulders, the bearded figure also holding a linked chain in his left hand while the other figure holds a flattened ring, standing on a separate shaped base, the face and hands gilded, the robes covered in gold lacquer, with traces of red lacquer on the officials' caps
