An ivory manju netsuke
19th Century
of square form, carved and pierced with a buddhistic lion to one side and flowers to the reverse, incised signature to the side -- 1½in. (3.8cm.) wide; and a small ivory carving of an immortal carrying a very large double-gourd on his shoulders -- 1¾in. (4.5cm.) high, (old wear).
