A pair of Japanese ovoid vases with rounded necks
19th/20th century
with moulded tied ribbons to the necks, painted and gilt with groups of monkeys seated eating fruit and clambering around, on pale celadon grounds, the shoudlers moulded with simulated drapery and decorated with fruiting vines and trailing leaves -- 13 5/8in. (34.5cms) high, signed and sealed to reverses.
