Stanley', silk fore-edge ties, watered silk doublures (portfolio lightly rubbed and marked, foot of spine worn with small loss). PUBLISHER'S PRESENTATION COPY in an elaborate portfolio.

An album of professionally-compiled press clippings, containing tipped-in articles relating to the Emin Pasha expedition and other episodes in Stanley's life, dated 1886-1890. 2° (Some leaves removed, other with clippings excised.) Contemporary half morocco by J.F. Bennet (rubbed, joints partially split, lacking spine).

Two uniformly-bound albums of professionally-compiled press clippings, the first containing tipped-in reviews and articles relating to Stanley's In Darkest Africa, dated 1890-1893, 4°, the second containing tipped-in and loosely-inserted articles relating to the Stanley-Barttelot controversy, the majority dated 1890, and a copy of État Indépendant du Congo. Règlement génèral pour le personnel de l'État en Afrique (Brussels: 1894), both bound in contemporary half morocco (lightly rubbed and marked, the joints of the second partially split).
