Pratt, Boston, Massachusetts, 2 October 1933, thanking her for a donation towards his second Antarctic expedition, 'I sincerely hope that the accomplishments of the Expedition will make us worthy of the confidence your letter expresses', one page, 4to; [together with] a collection of related printed ephemera, including:

TIDE WATER OIL COMPANY (publishers), Highlights of the Byrd Antarctic Expedition. United States of America: 1930. Large 4° (297 x 218mm.). Printed in brown, numerous illustrations. Original pictorial wrappers, printed in blue and brown (light surface damage to backstrip).

Rare ephemeral publication from the oil company which supplied the expedition with 3,300 gallons of Veedol Motor Oil, 100 pounds of Veedol Grease, 21,500 gallons of Tydol Aviation Gasoline and 1.400 gallons of Snowflake Kerosene.
