Text in English and French, 60 hand-coloured engraved plates (occasional light spotting and browning mainly to text leaves, plates lightly offset onto text), 19th-century straight-grained green morocco decorated in gilt and blind (extremities rubbed), gilt edges.
FIRST EDITION, FIRST ISSUE. Colas 2766; Lipperheide 1479; cf. Abbey Travel 429 (citing 1807 edition, but noting: "This book was originally published in parts in 1804-5, having an undated title-page ... with the title in the form The Costume of Indostan).
