Lot Essay

According to the vendor, The Beatles' signatures were obtained on 16th May, 1963 at Television Theatre, Shepherd's Bush Green where the Beatles were making their second appearance on national BBC television on the Pops And Lenny Show, broadcast live from the Empire theatre. The vendor who was part of the audience, recalls being taken backstage to the Beatles' dressing-room by a friend who worked at the studio. The Beatles each took the book and looked at who else had signed before signing themselves, John had started to sign a page but on noticing that it was already autographed, instead signed the adjacent page.
