A George III green Japanned longcase clock
Decorated overall in gilt with Oriental figures and birds amidst pagodas in landscapes, a ship to the trunk door and further birds to the plinth, the brass dial with cherub spandrels to a silvered Roman chapter ring with subsidiary seconds ring and date aperture, pierced hands, the four pillar movement with anchor escapement and hour strike on bell, basically 18th Century, the movement probably associated, with later restorations and adaptations, the gilt and lacquering refreshed
