Circular on circular foot, the body engraved To the Memory of the glorious NINETY-TWO: Members of the Honbl House of Representatives of the Massachusetts Bay who undaunted by the insolnet Menaces of Villains in Power from a strict Regard to Conseience and the LIBERTIES of their Constituents on the 30th of June 1768 Voted NOT TO RESCIND, and with the names of the original donours engraved around the rim, together with a booklet telling the story of the original punch bowl.

Lot Essay

The original punch bowl was commissioned from Paul Revere by fifteen fellow members of the Sons of Liberty to commemorate the vote of the House of Representatives to not rescind a letter written by Samuel Adams on the subject of the Stamp Act and the rights of the American colonists to seek representation in London on matters of colonial policy and taxation.
