AN AESTHETIC MOVEMENT EBONIZED AND PARCEL GILT DIMINUTIVE SLANT FRONT DESK
Attributed to Allen and Brother, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, 1860-1880
The rectangular top with a gallery with central gilded diamond reserve of flowers and a butterfly, above a slant lid with gilded painted panel of tree branches with birds, opening to reveal a compartmented interior over a rectangular case fitted with a drawer above two hinged doors each with a gilded panel and incised geometric fan designs, with ring-turned and incised columns on curved and carved feet
