Lot Essay

This is a remarkable Moghan runner with outstanding use of colour, in excelelnt condition, with an interesting play of different motifs in the central column of lozenges. Paired Memling guls are a frequent motif for the centre of a Moghan rug, but almost invariably contained within octagons rather than left open as here.
