A Berlin Royal portrait coffee-can Circa 1810, underglaze blue sceptre and blue enamel dash mark, incised 5 V (?)
Painted with a portrait of Queen Louise in profile to the left with purple drapery about her shoulders within an oval gilt panel enriched with raised gilt dots and palmettes, on a striped ground of gilt bands between a band of simulated lapis lazuli and a salmon-pink ground band enriched with gilt palmettes and stylised flowers, the angular handle gilt and with a band of lapis (slight scratch to portrait and very slight rubbing to rim)

Lot Essay
The portrait of Queen Louise on this cup is after the portrait by Schröder. Queen Louise (1776-1810) was the much loved wife of Friedrich Wilhelm III, King of Prussia.
